Project Timeline

  • January 9, 2024 – The project officially began with the approval of the study by the Ethics Committee of the University of Cagliari. This marked a fundamental milestone, providing the scientific and regulatory validation required to launch the research.

  • January 2024 – Shortly after approval, patient enrollment started. This crucial phase laid the foundation of the study, allowing the research team to begin collecting the first clinical data needed for future analyses.

  • March 3, 2025 – The study protocol was formally published in PubMed, making the project methodology available to the international scientific community. Read the publication.

  • April 12, 2025 – The results of the systematic review were released, also indexed in PubMed. This work provided a comprehensive overview of the existing evidence, supporting the rationale and relevance of the MINERVA study. Read the publication.

  • January 2025 – The patient enrollment phase was completed, successfully reaching the target population for the study. This step represents a turning point, allowing the project to move forward into the monitoring and follow-up phase.

  • January 2026 – The follow-up of patients will be completed, closing the observation period one year after enrollment. This will provide the final dataset for the analysis of outcomes.

  • February 2026 – The project will reach its official conclusion, with the final results expected to be shared with the scientific community through publications and dedicated dissemination activities.
